A tragic road traffic accident occurred on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Adansi Dompoase, near the new ECG office, claiming the lives of six individuals.
The accident involved a VIP bus with registration number GW 8455-23 and a Mercedes Benz Sprinter bus with registration number GS 6383-20.
The Ghana National Fire Service received the distress call at 12:43 pm and promptly responded to the scene.
Fire personnel, led by ADOII Samuel Mensah, arrived at the scene in good time and initiated rescue operations.
Despite the severity of the accident, the fire team worked efficiently to complete the rescue operations by 1:28 pm.
Extent of Damage
The Mercedes Benz Sprinter was severely damaged, with the rear section completely destroyed.
In contrast, the VIP bus sustained partial damage to its front side.
The impact of the collision was immense, resulting in the loss of six lives.
The bodies were handed over to the police, while one injured person was rushed to the Fomena Government Hospital for emergency care.
The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
