Media accreditation has officially opened for journalists and photographers seeking to cover Ghana’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Somalia at the Essipong Sports Stadium.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA), through its Communications Department, has announced that interested media practitioners must submit their applications by email to [pr@sportsauthority.gov.gh (mailto:pr@sportsauthority.gov.gh) no later than 5:00 pm GMT on Monday, November 9, 2026.

Applicants are required to attach a recent passport-sized photograph to their applications. The accreditation notice states that submissions without the required photograph will not be considered, while applications received after the deadline will be rejected.

Due to limited space at the media tribune, only shortlisted applicants will be granted accreditation. The facility at Essipong Sports Stadium has a seating capacity of 150 journalists, making the selection process necessary to manage media access during the match.

The list of successful applicants is expected to be published on Tuesday, November 9, 2026.Successful applicants will be able to collect their accreditation tags from either the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Secretariat at the Accra Sports Stadium or the National Sports Authority (NSA) Secretariat at Essipong Sports Stadium.

Media practitioners based in Accra can collect their tags from the SWAG Secretariat on Wednesday, November 10, between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.

Those based in the Western Region and surrounding areas will, however, be required to collect their accreditation tags from the NSA Secretariat at Essipong on the same day, between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.

The accreditation process is intended to organise media coverage ahead of the crucial international fixture, with the limited capacity of the media tribune making early applications essential for journalists and photographers hoping to gain access.

Media personnel have therefore been urged to comply with the stated requirements and deadlines to avoid having their applications disqualified.
