Halcyon Days For Pollsters, Prophets

Some persons have found in the fast approaching internal polls of the NPP to elect a flagbearer an alternative money-making means.

It is not about selling branded T-shirts or other items to advance the project of the candidates but by making positive predictions for them or organizing polls to favour them and it is selling like hot cake on the political space. You can label it a mind game temperate and it is intended to put a candidate on a high pedestal.

The stakes for the approaching polls are very high and have witnessed all manner of intrigues and sometimes outright spewing of vitriolic by some contenders.

Those who said they would ban one-man churches now find such venues worthy of their engagement during the last 31st December vigil.

Former Administrator of the District Assembly Common Fund, Irene Naa Torshie Addo after a bruising crash when she spewed inappropriate remarks on the campaign trail and gone into hibernation has returned with an equally bad one.

While addressing delegates she assured them that on Election Day, January 31 “we shall give delegates fat envelopes for transport”.

So sad that some politicians would want to persist on this insulting means of winning delegates to their side. If luring delegates to vote for the sources of fat envelopes does not constitute insults to their intelligence we do not know what else is. Like her previous failed remark this one too attracted negative fallouts.

Managing their tongues and their egos remains a challenge for most of the contenders.

Only a few, two or so have managed to steer away from the use of inappropriate language during their engagements with the delegates across the country.

One of the contenders even described a competitor as a slave a remark which made observers wonder how such a person can go and campaign in the part of the country the candidate hails from.

It is the so-called prophets and pollsters who present an interesting picture of their enterprise at this time.

In the realm of esoteric manouvres the dominant persons here are the prophets who see what their colleague mortals do not an attribute they are using big time to make wealth.

The traditional churches, Methodist, Presbyterian, Anglican and Roman Catholic do not belong here watching on only as those who claim to have special spiritual attributes tell politicians what they want to hear. For them the reward is in the hereafter.

With varying projections, forcefully put out we wonder whether they are not playing the Almighty Creator whose unlimited powers should not be toyed with.

One thing is common to the predictions they are never the same each playing the game according to the highest bidder.

When it is all over on 31 January and the results are declared those whose gamble carry the day will rejoice as they earn a feather of predictions. For those others they could go into hiding or release an excuse for what caused the change in the direction. Time it is said will tell. It will on 31 January 2026.
