Accra Hearts of Oak have confirmed they are prepared to consider offers for goalkeeper Benjamin Asare following his impressive performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but insist any transfer must reflect the best sporting and financial interests of both the player and the club.
The Ghana Premier League giants issued an official statement amid growing speculation linking the Black Stars goalkeeper with clubs across North Africa and the Saudi Pro League after his outstanding displays on football’s biggest stage.
Asare emerged as one of Ghana’s standout performers during the World Cup, producing a series of crucial saves that helped the Black Stars qualify for the Round of 32.
His performances, particularly in the goalless draw against England, significantly enhanced his reputation and attracted interest from clubs outside Ghana.
Responding to widespread reports regarding his valuation, Hearts of Oak dismissed claims that the club had placed a fixed asking price on the 34-year-old goalkeeper.
“As a professionally run football club, Hearts of Oak remains open to receiving and considering offers that serve the best interests of both the player and the Club,” the statement said.
The club added that “no official valuation has been communicated at this time, and any figures currently in circulation are speculative,” rejecting media reports suggesting a predetermined transfer fee.
The statement follows reports that Hearts recently turned down an initial $250,000 bid from an unnamed foreign club. However, sources close to the negotiations indicate the former Ghanaian champions believe Asare’s market value is significantly higher, with expectations reportedly ranging between $1 million and $2 million.
French Ligue 1 side Toulouse FC, one of the clubs linked with the goalkeeper, has since denied making any move for the Black Stars shot-stopper.
Hearts of Oak are in a strong negotiating position after recently extending Asare’s contract until 2027, giving the club control over any potential transfer discussions.
