The Ghana Police Service has arrested a man identified as Malcom Fraizer, also known as Nii Djan, in connection with the murder of a man believed to be romantically involved with his ex-wife.

The dramatic incident, which took place in Accra on April 1, 2025, is now the subject of an active homicide investigation.

According to a police statement released on July 1, 2025, Fraizer was apprehended following an intelligence-led operation by the National Operations Directorate (NOD) Intelligence Unit at the Police Headquarters.

His location was traced after a video related to the fatal confrontation surfaced online, providing critical leads for investigators.

Preliminary investigations have established that the altercation between Fraizer and the deceased turned violent, leading to the victim’s death.

Police say that during initial questioning, the suspect admitted to attacking the man in a fit of rage after discovering he was allegedly dating Fraizer’s former wife.

Sources close to the investigation say the altercation was not premeditated but escalated quickly, resulting in fatal injuries to the victim.

The identity of the deceased has not been officially released, pending notification of next of kin.

The suspect is currently in police custody, assisting with ongoing investigations.

Authorities say further updates will be provided as the case develops.

This tragic case underscores the dangers of personal vendettas and highlights the increasingly important role of digital evidence in modern policing.

The viral video clip that helped police zero in on Fraizer’s location is just one of several instances where crowdsourced footage has proven vital in tracking suspects.

Meanwhile, the police have urged the public to refrain from sharing or circulating graphic content from the incident on social media, emphasizing that such actions could compromise the integrity of the investigation and the privacy of those involved.

The Ghana Police Service has reaffirmed its commitment to justice, stating that no one is above the law, and anyone found guilty of taking the law into their own hands will be dealt with decisively.

The suspect is expected to be arraigned before court in the coming days.
