The Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, has welcomed the opportunity to face Germany in an international friendly match on March 30, 2026, in Stuttgart, saying it’s an amazing chance for his team to test itself against one of the best teams in the world.
The friendly match is part of Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where they have been drawn in Group L with England, Panama, and Croatia.
Germany, on the other hand, has been drawn in Group E with Cote D’Ivoire, Curacao, and Ecuador.
Coach Addo, a Hamburg-born former Bundesliga player and Ghana international, expressed his excitement about the match, stating, “This is an amazing opportunity for us to test ourselves against one of the best teams in the world. Germany are a good side, and we can’t wait to face them in Stuttgart”.
Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann also looks forward to the match, saying, “We are very much looking forward to the clash with Otto’s team. Their strong transition play can give us a taste of what to expect in the World Cup group match against Ivory Coast”.
Ghana and Germany have a history of encounters, having played each other twice at the FIFA World Cup. Ghana lost 1-0 in the 2010 edition and drew 2-2 in the 2014 edition.
The upcoming friendly promises to be an exciting test for the Black Stars as they continue their preparations for the global showpiece.
