The Central North Regional Police Command has rescued a 30-year-old man who was allegedly abducted in Assin Fosu in the Central Region.
The victim, Bismark Amoh, is currently receiving medical attention, a statement from the Ghana Police Service has said.
Amoh was allegedly kidnapped on Sunday September 6, 2026, and the alleged kidnappers demanded GHC45,000 ransom. A video recording was forwarded to Amoh’s family showing that he had been tied and the alleged kidnappers threatened to kill him if the ransom was not sent.
Amoh’s family, however, raised GHC19,500 but same was turned down by the alleged perpetrators.
The police statement assured the public that investigations are underway to “establish full circumstances surrounding the abduction and any further details will be communicated.”
