The town of Suma Ahenkro in the Bono Region was engulfed in sorrow as friends, family, and colleagues gathered to bid farewell to Sandra, popularly known by her TikTok handle Colourwinner, a final-year nursing student whose sudden death has left many in shock.

Sandra, who was pursuing her studies at the Presbyterian Nursing and Midwifery Training School in Dormaa Ahenkro, was reported to have collapsed after falling ill on September 8, 2025.

Despite being rushed to a nearby health facility, she could not be revived and passed away just days before sitting for her final licensure examinations—an important milestone that would have secured her qualification as a professional nurse.

Her death was officially confirmed on September 12, and since then, tributes have poured in across social media.

Many described her as a vibrant and inspiring young woman who used her TikTok platform to document her life as a student nurse and motivate others aspiring to join the profession.

With thousands of followers, she had gained popularity among Ghanaian youth, who fondly referred to her as the “TikTok Nurse.”

The final funeral rites were held in her hometown, Suma Ahenkro, where mourners gathered in their numbers to pay their last respects.

Videos circulating online showed emotional scenes, with friends and colleagues dressed in black, openly weeping as her casket was carried to the cemetery for burial.

Loved ones struggled to come to terms with the loss of a young woman whose promising future was cut short.

Her close friend, identified as Efya Odo, captured the grief of many when she wrote on social media: “Eii, so my friend is gone forever. My heart is shattered, ah. Rest well, my friend.”

Sandra’s passing has reignited conversations about the fragility of life and the emotional toll on young students preparing for the demanding journey into the healthcare sector.

Many on social media also expressed concern over the increasing reports of sudden deaths among young people in the country.

The images and videos of her funeral, widely shared on TikTok and other platforms, reflect a collective grief that transcended her immediate family.

For her colleagues at the Nursing Training School, the tragedy served as a painful reminder of life’s unpredictability, especially as they prepared to sit for the same crucial examinations Sandra never lived to write.
