Vice President Rushes Abroad For Medical Care After Sudden Illness

The Office of the President has confirmed that Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, the first female Vice President, has been rushed to the University of Ghana Medical Centre for urgent medical treatment following a sudden illness that occurred after her work on Friday, March 28, 2025.

According to a statement released by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, the Vice President’s condition requires further medical care abroad.

The statement reads: “The Vice President will be seeking further medical care abroad, based on expert medical opinion.”

This health scare comes as the country continues to show unwavering support for the Vice President, who made history in 2024 by becoming the first woman in Ghana’s history to hold the position of Vice President.
