The Western Central Regional Police Command has apprehended three suspects in connection with a daring robbery attack that occurred at Jukwa near Afransie in the Western Region.
The incident took place on July 15, 2025, when a Toyota Hilux pickup with registration number GT 7426-23, carrying gold concentrate from a mining site to Wassa Akropong, was ambushed near Jukwa town.
The attackers made off with the gold concentrate, leaving the vehicle’s occupants shaken.
Fortunately, a swift police response led to the arrest of one of the suspects, Foster Peprah, a small-scale miner, at the scene of the crime.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Peprah had collaborated with another suspect, Isaac, who is currently evading capture.
Inside Job
Further interrogation of Peprah led to the arrest of Kofi Gyamfi, the driver of the Toyota Hilux pickup.
Gyamfi implicated Bashiru, the security guard accompanying the vehicle, as the mastermind behind the robbery. Bashiru was subsequently apprehended at his hideout in Wassa Gyedua.
All three suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with investigations while efforts are underway to capture the fourth suspect, Isaac.

The Western Central Regional Police Command’s prompt action and diligent investigation have been commendable, bringing the suspects to justice and ensuring that the rule of law is upheld.
The police are working tirelessly to apprehend the remaining suspect and bring the perpetrators to face the full weight of the law.
