The Omanhene of Akuapem in the Eastern Region, Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III, on Saturday joined hundreds of participants in the annual Lyf Arena Walk, a community fitness and unity initiative that has grown into a major social event in the Region.

The Okuapehene was not alone. He was flanked by his traditional leaders, including his Krontihene, Osahene Boafo Ansah III, and the Pampimhene, Nana Asiamah Bekoe, as the procession moved from Ayimensah through the Akuapem Hills and ended at the Aburi Botanical Gardens.

The walk, which brought together chiefs, youth groups, and residents, was marked by music, dance, and a strong call for togetherness.

Speaking on the sidelines of the event, the Okuapehene underscored the importance of the Lyf Walk in fostering unity and healthy living among the youth of Akuapem and beyond.

In a moment that excited participants, Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo displayed his dancing skills to the rhythm of popular local tunes, drawing cheers and chants from the crowd.

His energetic performance was symbolic, reinforcing the bond between traditional leadership and the people they serve.

The Lyf Arena Walk has become a recognized annual tradition, drawing participants from across the region.

It began as a small fitness initiative but has since evolved into a cultural and social event that blends wellness, entertainment, and traditional authority.

For many, the involvement of the Okuapehene and his sub-chiefs has given the event greater significance, turning it into a rallying point for unity in the Akuapem Traditional Area.

The Akuapem State, with its with history of chieftaincy and festivals such as the celebrated Odwira Festival, has long placed emphasis on community identity and cohesion.

The Okuapehene’s leadership at events like the Lyf Walk reflects a continuation of that tradition, ensuring that culture, unity, and progress remain at the forefront of the area’s development.

Residents expressed admiration for their chief’s participation, with many saying it has inspired them to see leadership not just as distant authority but as active engagement in community life.
