Eighteen players have arrived at the Black Stars camp in Nagoya, Japan, ahead of the team’s Kirin Cup clash with Japan on Friday, November 14.
The players, who include home-based talents Kelvin Nkrumah and Prince Owusu, are set to join forces with the rest of the squad, with Benjamin Asare, Mohammed Salisu, Prince Osei Owusu, and Christopher Bonsu Baah arriving on Wednesday.


Squad Update
The current squad in camp features Joseph Anang, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Derrick Kohn, Jerome Opoku, Ebenezer Annan, Jonas Adjetey, Kojo Oppong Peprah, Caleb Yirenkyi, Alidu Seidu, Gideon Mensah, Abu Francis, Kwasi Sibo, Prince Owusu, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Antoine Semenyo, Brandon Thomas-Asante, Kelvin Nkrumah, and Prince Adu Kwabena.
Preparations
The Black Stars held their first training session in Nagoya on Wednesday, November 13, ahead of their Kirin Cup fixture against Japan.
Meanwhile, Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, said the Black Stars are not taking the friendly games against Japan and South Korea lightly.
As part of the team’s build-up to the 2026 World Cup, Ghana will face Japan in a Kirin Cup on Friday, November 14, at the Toyota Stadium, with kick-off scheduled at 10:20 am, before taking on South Korea on Tuesday, November 18, in Seoul.
Despite key players being left out of the squad for the games, Asante Twum, said the team will approach the games with dedication and determination.
“The games against Japan and South Korea will be tough, and we’re not taking them lightly at all,” he told Sporty FM.
“We want to see players who are hungry and will fight for the Black Stars,” he added.
All invited players for the games are currently in camp and will hold their final training today ahead of the game on Friday.
