The legislature is set to reconvene later this month, as the Parliament of Ghana prepares to resume sittings for the Second Meeting of the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.
The announcement was made by the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, through a formal notice issued from his office.
According to the notice, the House will reconvene on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Parliament House in Accra.
The directive, issued pursuant to Order 58 of the Standing Orders of Parliament, officially sets the date for Members of Parliament to return from recess and resume legislative duties.
Parliament had earlier adjourned sine die on March 27, 2026, ahead of the Easter festivities, marking the end of its previous sitting.
The upcoming meeting will therefore constitute the second sitting for the 2026 parliamentary calendar within the Ninth Parliament.
The resumption is expected to see lawmakers deliberate on pending bills, policy matters, and other national issues as part of their constitutional mandate.
Parliamentary sittings during such sessions typically involve legislative scrutiny, oversight of government activities, and debate on matters of public interest.
The reconvening of Parliament marks a continuation of the legislative agenda for the year, as the House returns to advance governance and policymaking processes in Ghana.
