Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club have officially parted ways with their technical team led by coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani following a comprehensive review of the club’s 2025/26 football season.
In an official statement released by the club’s management on May 26, 2026, the Phobians confirmed that the decision was taken after assessing the team’s performance and technical direction despite finishing third in the just-ended Ghana Premier League campaign.
The club expressed appreciation to Didi Dramani and his backroom staff for their commitment, professionalism and service during their time at the club.
“Hearts of Oak secured a third-place finish in the just ended season, and we acknowledge the discipline and effort they brought to the technical setup,” portions of the statement read.
The decision marks the end of another managerial chapter for the Ghanaian giants, who have struggled in recent seasons to return to their dominant status in domestic football.
Although Hearts of Oak managed to secure a respectable league finish under Didi Dramani, the club’s hierarchy appears determined to restructure the technical department as part of a broader long-term rebuilding strategy.
Management indicated that the team and players are currently on recess while discussions continue regarding the future direction of the club.
“The Board will, in due course, communicate the technical direction of the club as we continue to align our football philosophy with the long-term ambitions and identity of Accra Hearts of Oak,” the statement added.
Pressure Continues On Ghana’s Biggest Clubs
The departure of Didi Dramani comes amid growing pressure on traditional Ghanaian football giants to compete consistently for major honours both locally and continentally.
Hearts of Oak have experienced frequent coaching changes in recent years as the club continues searching for stability and sustained success.
The Phobians remain one of Ghana’s most successful football institutions, with a rich history that includes multiple Ghana Premier League titles and continental triumphs, including the historic CAF Champions League victory in 2000.
However, recent campaigns have fallen below the expectations of supporters who continue demanding a return to the club’s glory days.
Fans Await New Technical Direction
The club’s management assured supporters that every decision being taken is aimed at strengthening the institution both on and off the pitch.
The statement further thanked fans for their loyalty and passion throughout the season while promising that the next phase of the club’s rebuilding process would soon be communicated.
Attention will now shift to who Hearts of Oak appoint as the next head coach as preparations begin ahead of the 2026/27 football season.
