Ghanaian actor Mikki Osei Berko, widely recognised for his roles as Master Richard and Dada Boat, in soap opera Taxi Driver has been enstooled as a traditional chief in Adamorobe in the Akuapem South Municipality of the Eastern Region.

The installation, carried out in accordance with customary rites, saw the actor formally inducted into the chieftaincy structure of the community under the stool name Nana Osei Boakye Yiadom II.

The ceremony was led by elders and traditional authorities of Adamorobe, marking his transition from the entertainment industry into a position of cultural and community leadership.

Adamorobe, a historic town within the Akuapem traditional area, is known for its deep-rooted customs and structured chieftaincy system. Enstoolment ceremonies in the area follow long-established traditions, symbolising not only authority but also a commitment to service, unity, and development within the community.

During the ceremony, Mikki Osei Berko was dressed in traditional attire, notably a fugu paired with shorts, reflecting cultural identity and respect for local customs.

In line with tradition, he was guided by elders to sit on the stool three times—an important ritual signifying acceptance and legitimacy. Ritual powder was also sprinkled on him as part of the enstoolment process.

Videos from the ceremony have since circulated widely on social media, drawing significant public attention.

In brief remarks following the ceremony, Mikki Osei Berko expressed gratitude to God, the elders of Adamorobe, and the wider Ghanaian public for the honour.

He indicated his readiness to embrace the responsibilities that come with the stool and to contribute meaningfully to the development of the community.
