Agradaa Flushes Hopeson Adorye Photo In Water Closet, As She Rains Curses On Him

-By Daniel Bampoe

Controversial televangelist and former fetish priestess Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has escalated her long-running feud with politician Hopeson Adorye by performing a dramatic spiritual ritual in what she claims is retaliation for betrayal and political disloyalty.

The bizarre incident—captured on video and circulated widely on social media—adds a fresh twist to the already heated legal and personal battle involving Agradaa, Adorye, and his wife, gospel musician Empress Gifty.

The Ritual and the Curse

In the viral footage, Agradaa is seen in a disheveled room—reportedly belonging to someone else—holding a printed photo of Hopeson Adorye.

With visible anger, she dropped Hopeson Adorye Photo into the Water Closet, pronounced damning curses over the image, accusing him of insulting her, betrayal and political treachery.

According to her, Adorye’s defection from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) was the ultimate act of disloyalty and also attacking her publicly that she hasn’t done anything to him.

“I’m cursing you today to end your political career,” Agradaa is heard chanting. “You will never gain any favour in this life. I’ve ended your political ambitions. You’re a traitor!”

She proceeded to pour Florida water—a spiritual cleansing fluid used in many African traditional rites—over the photograph and, in a shocking act, dropped it into a visibly dirty toilet bowl and flushed it away, declaring his life and career “buried spiritually.”

Background to the Feud

The spectacle is the latest chapter in a broader public and legal confrontation between Nana Agradaa and Empress Gifty, who recently filed a GH¢20 million defamation lawsuit against the self-styled evangelist.

Filed on May 20, 2025, at the Tema High Court, the suit accuses Agradaa of slander and libel in a series of social media tirades.

The gospel singer is seeking general damages, a perpetual injunction against further defamation, removal of offensive content, and coverage of her legal fees.

Before the lawsuit was formally lodged, a video surfaced of Hopeson Adorye issuing a stern warning to Agradaa on Power 97.9 FM, cautioning her against using his wife’s brand slogan “Noko Fine” in her TikTok videos.

He alleged that Agradaa had made over 30 defamatory posts about him and his wife, and vowed to take appropriate action.

“I am not one to insult, but people will see what actions I will take,” Adorye said, maintaining that his criticisms of Agradaa were rooted in her controversial conduct—particularly a viral video in which she accepted money from NDC’s Sammy Gyamfi, later pledging to return it and use the refund as proof of her innocence.

Agradaa’s Legal Counterattack

Following the lawsuit, Agradaa wasted no time in responding publicly, vowing to countersue Adorye in an “international court.”

In a video posted on Instagram, she mocked the legal action, claiming she could not be intimidated by threats or lawsuits.

“You can sue me a hundred or two hundred times, I don’t care,” she said defiantly. “I will sue your husband in dollars and give you change in cedis.”

This statement was perceived as a direct shot at both Empress Gifty and her husband, further entrenching the acrimony between the parties.

Afia Schwarzenegger Weighs In

Meanwhile, media personality Afia Schwarzenegger has thrown her weight behind Agradaa, expressing support for the televangelist’s attack on Adorye.

In a video post, she claimed that Adorye started the feud and must now face the consequences.

Her comments have added another layer of public drama to the unfolding scandal.

Political and Social Fallout

The feud, while personal on the surface, has broader political implications.

Hopeson Adorye’s move from NPP to NDC has sparked criticism from loyalists on both sides, and Agradaa has capitalized on the controversy to accuse him of opportunism.

The imagery of a spiritual “burial” of Adorye’s political career in a toilet has ignited debates online, with some praising Agradaa’s audacity and others condemning the act as distasteful.
