Akufo-Addo Was Not A Butcher – Salam Mustapha Fires Back At Calls To Pray For Mahama’s Success

The National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha, has dismissed calls on Ghanaians to pray for President John Mahama’s success.

In a scathing statement, Salam Mustapha described the suggestion as “arrant nonsense” and argued that the President’s success should be based on deliverables, not metaphysics.
He said those calling for prayers for the current President are hypocritical, stressing that President Akufo-Addo was not butcher who deserved condemnation.

Salam Mustapha’s comments come amidst growing concerns about the state of Ghana’s democracy and the perceived decline in public trust in politics.

However, the NPP youth leader insisted that President Mahama’s success is not dependent on prayers, but rather on his ability to fulfill his campaign promises.

“Nobody will waste his/her prayer on President Mahama,” Mustapha declared.

“He must implement a 24-hour economy, bring down the cost of living, reduce fuel prices, stabilize power, and fight galamsey, as promised to the people.”

Salam Mustapha’s statement on his Facebook page also took aim at the perceived double standards in Ghana’s political discourse.

He noted that former President Akufo-Addo was “demonized” due to economic issues, despite his achievements in other sectors.

The NPP youth leader emphasized his commitment to holding President Mahama and his government accountable for their actions.

“We will not tolerate the politics of lies,” he warned. “You can’t lie your way to power and not expect the people to be disappointed at the reality.”

However, Salam Mustapha’s comments have sparked a lively debate on social media, with some supporting his views and others criticizing his tone and language.

The exchange highlights the ongoing tensions between the NPP and the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Ghana.
