Asante Kotoko Ready To Take On Kwara United In CAF Confederation Cup

Asante Kotoko Communications Director, Sarfo Duku, has expressed confidence in the team’s preparation ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round match against Nigerian side Kwara United.

The Porcupine Warriors will host Kwara United in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, September 21, with kick-off scheduled for 15:00 GMT.

Comprehensive Preparation Program

Under the guidance of head coach Karim Zito, Asante Kotoko has outlined a comprehensive preparation program to ensure a strong performance against Kwara United.

The team’s preparation schedule includes double training sessions from Wednesday to Friday, with a single session on the eve of the match.

This rigorous training regimen aims to fine-tune the team’s skills and strategy, preparing them for the challenges ahead.

Motivation And Confidence

Duku highlighted the team’s recent successes, stating, “under Karim Zito, this current team has won four trophies, and there is more to come from the players.”

He also emphasized that the players are motivated to win the game, having studied videos of previous African matches and understanding the challenge ahead.

Zito believes the team is yet to reach its peak, and Duku is confident that they will make Ghanaians proud.

Call For Support

Duku urged Ghanaians to rally behind the club as it pursues continental glory, saying, “This is Asante Kotoko, and if they perform, it benefits the country. I am asking Ghanaians to show up in their numbers to support the team.”

The team’s performance in the CAF Confederation Cup will not only bring pride to the club but also to the nation.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed the officiating team for the match, led by Ivorian referee Patrick Tanguy Jean Philippe Vlei.

The team includes Assistant Referees Nouho Ouattara and Lancine Kone, with Ibrahim Kalilou Traore as the fourth official.
