Black Queens Cruise Past Hong Kong In Pink Ladies Cup Opener

The senior women’s national team, the Black Queens, began their campaign at the Pink Ladies Cup in emphatic fashion with a commanding 4–0 victory over Hong Kong in Dubai, signaling a strong start to their international engagements in 2026.

The performance reflected a blend of tactical discipline, attacking fluidity, and squad depth under head coach Kim Lars Björkegren, who named a balanced starting lineup anchored by a midfield partnership between Jennifer Cudjoe and Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah.

From the opening whistle, Ghana asserted dominance, pressing high and controlling possession against a Hong Kong side that struggled to cope with the Queens’ pace and movement.

The breakthrough came early when Princess Marfo opened the scoring after a well-timed run was expertly picked out by Doris Boaduwaa.

The move epitomised the attacking intent, with quick transitions and intelligent off-the-ball movement cutting through the Hong Kong defence.

Moments later, Boaduwaa turned scorer herself, capitalising on a defensive lapse to double the lead and firmly place Ghana in control of the contest.

The Black Queens could have extended their advantage further when they were awarded a penalty following a foul on Boaduwaa, but the opportunity went begging as the spot kick was missed.

Despite that setback, Ghana maintained their composure and continued to dictate the tempo of the match.

Just before halftime, Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah added a third goal from close range, giving Ghana a commanding cushion going into the break and underlining their superiority in all departments.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with the Queens creating several clear chances through structured build-up play and wide attacking movements, even though further goals proved harder to come by.

Hong Kong remained largely on the defensive, unable to sustain meaningful pressure or threaten the backline.
