Hearts of Oak are reportedly on the verge of completing the signing of Ivorian attacker Abdoul Kader Kuruma Mamudu as the Phobians continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new Ghana Premier League season.
According to domestic football transfer expert Mohammed Shaban, negotiations between the two parties have reached an advanced stage, with the Ghanaian giants expected to finalise a three-year contract with the forward in the coming days.
Mamudu has already returned to Ghana and is currently training with the Hearts of Oak first team, a development that further points to the club’s intention to complete the transfer.
The Ivorian first attracted the attention of the Phobians during a training stint with the club in January. However, despite impressing the technical team, Hearts were unable to secure his services permanently at the time because the club was operating under a transfer ban.
The restriction had limited the club’s ability to register new players and forced management to delay several recruitment plans as it worked to resolve outstanding contractual obligations.
The situation has since changed following the lifting of the transfer ban. Hearts of Oak reportedly settled compensation owed to former technical director René Hiddink following the wrongful termination of his contract, allowing the club to regain the ability to conduct player registrations and pursue new signings.
With the restriction removed, Mamudu has returned to the club and resumed training alongside the senior squad as negotiations over his proposed move enter the final stages.
His return also provides Hearts’ technical team with an opportunity to further assess the forward before the club completes the formalities of the transfer.
The proposed three-year agreement would also indicate the club’s confidence in the Ivorian’s ability to make a long-term contribution to the team.
