Ghanaian dancehall heavyweight Samini has declared that helping emerging musicians from Dansoman gain recognition is a bigger priority for him in 2026 than producing another hit song, signalling a renewed commitment to nurturing the next generation of Ghanaian music stars.
The award-winning musician, known for hit songs such as Linda, says he intends to use his influence and experience in the entertainment industry to create opportunities for young creatives from his home community who are struggling to gain visibility.
Samini made the declaration at the media launch of his upcoming Samini Xperience event at Kegali Hotel in Accra, where he outlined his plans to use the concert as a platform for discovering and promoting emerging talents from Dansoman, popularly known as DC.
“I don’t need to sing or write another hit song in 2026; I have a whole lot of young people to push,” he stated.
According to the musician, he has encountered impressive creative work from young people in Dansoman but believes many of them lack the platforms needed to showcase their abilities to a wider audience.
He intends to use Samini Xperience to bridge that gap by bringing emerging performers before larger audiences and creating opportunities for them to demonstrate their potential.
“I want to create a platform where young acts can showcase their talents to the world and prove that there is a new generation of DC that the world is not ready for yet,” Samini said.
His remarks reflect a broader challenge facing emerging musicians in Ghana, where talent alone does not always guarantee recognition. Access to major performance stages, industry networks, publicity and established audiences can play an important role in helping young artistes build sustainable careers.
By attaching emerging performers to an event associated with his name, Samini hopes to give them the exposure they need to begin attracting attention from music lovers and industry stakeholders.
He explained that his success comes with a responsibility to give back to the community that helped shape his journey.
“The energy I’m known for comes with a responsibility to return home, bring that vibe to Dansoman (DC) and, most importantly, use my platform to support the growing number of young talents coming up,” he said.
Samini Xperience to Feature Young Creatives
Samini Xperience is scheduled for December 24, 2026, as part of the week-long DC Carnival, which is expected to run from December 18 to 24 in collaboration with the Dansoman Municipal Assembly.
The initiative is intended to celebrate the community while providing a platform for local talent to connect with wider audiences.
“I have received so much diverse and creative work from young people in the community, and the least I can do is create a platform for them, bring the world to Dansoman and show it what we have to offer,” he added.
