Michy Fires Back At Shatta Wale Over $65,000 House Claim

A new public disagreement has emerged between dancehall musician Shatta Wale and his former partner, Michelle Diamond Gbagonah, popularly known as Shatta Michy, after the entrepreneur appeared to dispute the musician’s claims about the financial support he claims to have provided for her and their son.

The latest exchange has reignited public attention on the former couple’s relationship, with Michy suggesting that some of the claims made by the award-winning artist regarding a house, vehicle and financial assistance were exaggerated.

The controversy began after Shatta Wale appeared on The Bonah Show, where he spoke extensively about his responsibilities toward the mothers of his three children.

According to the dancehall star, he has made deliberate efforts over the years to ensure that his baby mamas are financially secure by purchasing properties and vehicles for them.

Speaking during the interview, Shatta Wale claimed he bought a house worth approximately $65,000 for Michy and also purchased a car for her.

He further stated that similar support had been extended to the mother of his first child, adding that the properties were registered in the beneficiaries’ names.

“I have been able to sort all of them out. Shatta Michy cannot say I did not give her $65,000 to buy a house. I bought her a car. My first baby mama also has two cars, and I am trying to build another house for her. The properties belong to them, and they can do whatever they want with them,” he said.

The interview quickly circulated across social media, generating widespread reactions from fans and followers.

Not long afterwards, Michy shared a series of posts on social media that many interpreted as a direct response to the musician’s remarks, although she did not mention him by name.

In one of the posts, the entrepreneur questioned whether the musician had ever given anyone a gift without later reclaiming it.

“Is there anything he has given anyone that he hasn’t taken back? It’s common sense,” she wrote.

Michy also appeared to challenge the figure mentioned by the musician, suggesting that she possessed documents showing a significantly lower amount than the $65,000 he publicly referenced.

“I will make time to go through my files and find the 15k receipt. You brought this upon yourself. I stayed quiet because I know how seasonal you can be,” she wrote.

The entrepreneur further argued that she continues to shoulder the overwhelming responsibility of raising their son, Majesty, claiming she performs about 95 per cent of the parenting responsibilities while receiving only minimal support.

According to Michy, the realities of raising a child involve expenses that far exceed what she says is being portrayed publicly.

“You have no idea how expensive this child is. Aside from everything else I put into his upbringing, I wouldn’t be proud to boast if I were only giving the bare minimum. Now you’re inflating prices,” she stated.

She also appeared to question claims that a property had been purchased specifically for their son, suggesting that such assertions were inconsistent with complaints about access to the child.

“I bought a house for my son, but I can’t even see my son in that house. I can only pass by the junction on my way to another place. Make it make sense,” she added.

The latest public exchange marks another chapter in the long-running relationship between the two, whose romance was once among Ghana’s most talked-about celebrity unions.

Shatta Wale and Michy were together for several years and welcomed their son, Majesty, in 2015. Throughout their relationship, the couple became one of the most admired celebrity pairs, frequently appearing together at events and on social media.

However, the relationship eventually ended amid public disagreements and recurring controversies, after which both parties moved on with their separate lives while continuing to co-parent their son.
