Nana Agradaa Sparks Debate With Bold Prophecy About Agya Koo’s Political Future

By Issah Olegor

Controversial televangelist Nana Agradaa has once again returned to the spotlight—this time not over legal battles, but for a striking prophecy about Kumawood actor Agya Koo and his political ambitions.

In a recent interview, the founder of Heaven Way Champion International Ministry claimed that the veteran actor could one day rise to become President of Ghana.

Her comments come at a time when Agya Koo has taken a bold step into national politics, launching a new movement aimed at reshaping the country’s political landscape.

Prophecy Meets Politics

According to Agradaa, Agya Koo carries a unique “divine grace” and destiny that could propel him to the highest office in the land.

She suggested that beyond his career in entertainment, there is a spiritual dimension to his political journey that should not be overlooked.

Her remarks followed the actor’s announcement on April 12, 2026, of a new political movement known as “The Base Ghana First,” an initiative he says is intended to break the long-standing dominance of the two major parties—the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Agya Koo explained that his decision was driven by a desire to offer an alternative political force focused on ordinary Ghanaians, particularly traders, while also promoting tourism and national development.

He indicated that supporters from all 16 regions have already shown interest in joining the movement.

Agradaa’s Return To Public Life

Agradaa’s latest prophecy comes just weeks after her release from prison on March 3, 2026. She had been convicted in July 2025 on charges of charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretences linked to a controversial money-doubling scheme.

Initially handed a 15-year sentence, her punishment was later reduced to 12 months by the Amasaman High Court, which described the original term as excessive.

Her release under the remission policy has since marked a rapid return to public and religious activities, including sermons, interviews, and prophetic declarations.

Mixed Reactions from the Public

As expected, Agradaa’s prophecy has triggered intense reactions across social media. While some users entertained the possibility of an unconventional political rise, many others dismissed the claim outright, questioning both the credibility of the prophecy and the feasibility of such a political trajectory.

Critics pointed to the political realities, arguing that leadership requires more than popularity or prophecy.

Others used the moment to highlight broader concerns about governance, qualifications, and the direction of the country’s democracy.

Yet, a section of the public appeared open-minded, suggesting that the evolving political space could allow for unexpected candidates to emerge.

A Continuing Pattern of Controversy

Since her release, Agradaa has remained a polarising figure blending religion, media attention, and public commentary in ways that consistently spark debate.
