The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Council of Elders met with the 2024 Election Review Committee on Monday, February 25, 2025, to share their insights on the party’s performance in the recent elections.

This meeting marks a significant step in the NPP’s efforts to assess its strengths and weaknesses, with the ultimate goal of strengthening party organization and improving future electoral outcomes.

The National Council of Elders, chaired by Hackman Owusu-Agyemang, submitted a document outlining key recommendations and strategic proposals.

Prof. Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi led the presentation, which was attended by other notable figures, including Ing. Dr. Kwesi Abease and Dr. Alex Glover-Quartey.

The document’s contents were not made public, but it is expected to provide valuable guidance for the party’s future strategies.

The 2024 Election Review Committee was established by the NPP’s National Council on January 2, 2025, to conduct a comprehensive review of the party’s performance in the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.

Chaired by former Speaker of Parliament Prof. Mike Oquaye, the committee aims to identify the root causes of the party’s performance and develop a strategic roadmap for victory in the 2028 elections.

As part of its review process, the committee will engage with various stakeholders, including former presidents, campaign management team members, student groups, and grassroots members.

The committee has also established a dedicated research desk to collect and analyze data, ensuring that its recommendations are informed by comprehensive and accurate information.

The NPP’s efforts to review and improve its performance demonstrate the party’s commitment to regrouping and strengthening its presence in Ghana’s political landscape.
