Nungua Muslim Queen Shooter Remanded

A 26-year-old suspect, Samuel Adjei, has been remanded into police custody by the District Court for his alleged involvement in the fatal shooting of Naa Borley Ahmed, a Muslim queen mother, during an enstoolment ceremony at Nungua in the Greater Accra Region.

The incident, which occurred on Saturday, February 22, 2025, sent shockwaves through the community, leaving many in a state of grief and outrage.

According to eyewitnesses, the ceremony was underway when a single-barrel gun was discharged, striking Naa Borley Ahmed in the right thigh.

Preliminary investigations conducted by the police have revealed that Samuel Adjei allegedly fired the live ammunition that hit the deceased.

Despite being rushed to the hospital for medical attention, Naa Borley Ahmed succumbed to her injuries, leaving behind a trail of sorrow and unanswered questions.

On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, Samuel Adjei was arraigned before the District Court, charged with murder.

After a brief hearing, the court remanded the suspect into police custody, pending further investigations.

The police have assured the public that they are working tirelessly to unravel the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.

The suspect is expected to reappear before the court on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
