30 Armed Soldiers Storm Bawumia’s ADC House

It has been established that about 30 heavily armed men—believed to be operatives of the National Security stormed the private residence of Superintendent Yakubu Issahaku, Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to ex-Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, on Saturday, April 5, 2025, using sledgehammers and metal tools to force their way in.
The operation was said to have been authorized by DCOP Razak Osman, the National Security Coordinator, who is a former ADC to John Mahama.
The motive of the raid is still unknown and no official statement has been issued.

The targeted home, located in the quiet neighbourhood of Sapeiman near Amasaman, became a battleground around 6:14 p.m., when a group of masked men dressed in military-style gear descended on the compound in a convoy of unmarked vehicles.

According to security footage and eyewitness reports, the operation was anything but subtle.

The CCTV footage, which has since gone viral, shows the operatives launching a coordinated assault on the main security gate.

Led by National Security’s Director of Operations, Richard Jakpa, the men used hammers and iron jacks to smash open the metal gate, pounding at it with calculated force until it eventually gave way.

Richard Jakpa, dressed in a distinctive fugu, is clearly seen in the footage directing the operation from the front lines.

Once the gate was breached, the men swiftly moved through the courtyard and began breaking into the residence door-by-door, using the same tools to destroy locks and hinges.

The operation left a trail of destruction, with doors hanging off their frames and rooms completely turned over.

Supt Issahaku, who was away at the time of the incident, said he first learned of the raid from a friend.

“I received a message via WhatsApp at around 6:14 p.m. from a friend, alerting me that my house was under attack. By the time I could react, the operatives had already broken in,” he stated.

Issahaku revealed that the CCTV systems were immediately disabled by the operatives, who disconnected the hard drive, removed internet routers, switches, and seized all surveillance equipment.

“They destroyed my security doors, disconnected my CCTV system, took away the hard disk, and removed all internet routers and switches. Every room was searched—there was no explanation, no legal document, nothing,” he added.

The forceful nature of the raid has raised alarm bells across the political spectrum, especially due to Issahaku’s former role as the personal security aide to the ex-Vice President.

After the violent incident, Ghanaians are questioning the motive, considering the absence of any legal documentation during the operation, and the selective targeting of an individual closely linked to the former administration.

Adding to the controversy, Issahaku identified Superintendent of Police Sulemana Sule as the ground commander during the raid.

“I know Sule personally. He operates from the Blue Gate at Jubilee House. The fact that he knew me and still went ahead with this kind of raid without cause is deeply disturbing,” Issahaku disclosed.

Photos and videos circulating online from the aftermath of the raid show rooms in total disarray—furniture overturned, wardrobes emptied, drawers flung open, and upholstery slashed.

The main hall appeared ransacked, with scattered documents, electronic devices missing, and personal belongings strewn across the floor.
