The 2025 edition of ShattaFest, headlined by Ghanaian dancehall icon Shatta Wale, has etched its name in the entertainment history as one of the largest outdoor music concerts ever held in the country.

What was initially planned for a 100,000-capacity crowd turned into a mammoth festival, drawing more than 300,000 fans to Accra’s Independence Square and its surrounding areas.

According to Sammy Flex, Shatta Wale’s manager and a key member of the organizing team, the turnout far exceeded expectations.
Speaking in a post-event interview, he revealed that the team’s official request to the Ghana Police Service, Fire Service, and the National Ambulance Service projected an audience of about 100,000 people — a figure they considered ambitious but manageable.
However, on the night of the concert, the scene at Independence Square defied all expectations.
Drone footage captured a sea of fans stretching from the Independence Square through the Osu area to as far as the Tema Station enclave.

“We didn’t anticipate the huge numbers at all. They filled every inch of the square and spilled into the streets. The atmosphere was unbelievable,” Sammy Flex recounted.
Despite the overwhelming crowd, the event ran smoothly thanks to swift coordination between security agencies and the organizing team.
Sammy Flex disclosed that emergency protocols were fully activated as the heat and congestion intensified during peak performances.
“When the heat got intense, I called on the Fire Service to sprinkle water on the fans. We had ambulances and five emergency response vehicles on standby throughout the night,” he said.
The concert, which was put together in just 13 days, saw Shatta Wale deliver a thrilling, marathon performance that lasted for hours, alongside surprise appearances by several guest artists.
The rapid organization, Sammy Flex noted, was a testament to the team’s commitment and the artist’s influence. “We planned everything in just 13 days — from decision to execution.
This success shows that God truly used Shatta to bless the nation,” he emphasized.
For many fans, ShattaFest 2025 was more than a concert — it was a cultural moment celebrating the deep bond between Shatta Wale and his loyal fan base, popularly
known as the Shatta Movement (SM).
