Suhum MP Assists Municipal GES Office With Office Equipment

The Member of Parliament for the Suhum Constituency, Frank Asiedu Bekoe, has taken another step to support education delivery in the municipality with the donation of essential office equipment to the Suhum Municipal Office of the Ghana Education Service (GES).

The presentation, made on Friday, January 16, 2026, forms part of the MP’s broader efforts to improve the operational capacity of public institutions that underpin service delivery in the constituency.

The donation, which included a Canon multi-purpose photocopier, two desktop computers and a Lenovo laptop, was made against the background of persistent administrative challenges confronting the Suhum GES office.

As the supervisory body responsible for coordinating basic education across the municipality, the office relies heavily on efficient documentation, reporting and data management, yet has long operated with limited modern equipment.

Asiedu Bekoe’s intervention followed a series of engagements and working visits to the GES office, during which he gained first-hand knowledge of the difficulties staff faced in carrying out their duties.

During one such visit, it became evident that the absence of functional photocopiers and adequate computers was affecting workflow, record-keeping and communication with schools under the municipality’s jurisdiction.

Moved by these challenges, the MP assured the management of the Suhum GES of his intention to provide the necessary tools to improve efficiency.

The recent donation, therefore, represents the fulfilment of that promise and reflects what he described as his commitment to practical, needs-based support rather than symbolic gestures.

Frank Asiedu Bekoe also known as Protozoa acknowledged the broader challenges confronting the education sector in Suhum, noting that while infrastructure and staffing remain key concerns, administrative capacity is equally critical.

He pointed out that over the years he has supported education in various forms, but the lack of basic office equipment at the municipal directorate had remained a major gap.

The MP stressed that education remains one of his top priorities as a legislator and development advocate for Suhum.

According to him, strengthening the working environment of education administrators has a direct impact on supervision, monitoring and overall service delivery in schools across the municipality.

He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting all sectors of the constituency, with education continuing to receive particular attention.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Ghana Education Service, the Municipal Director of Education, Elizabeth Osei Bonsu, expressed profound appreciation to the MP for what she described as a timely and thoughtful intervention.

She noted that the equipment would significantly enhance the office’s ability to manage its workload and improve coordination with schools and other stakeholders.
