A tragic incident in Tema has left a young couple dead and a community in shock, after a soldier identified as Prince Okrah allegedly attacked and killed his friend, Ebenezer Kwabena Obri, and his six-month pregnant partner in what police suspect to be a robbery-related crime.

The incident is reported to have occurred on April 29, 2026, at the victims’ residence.

According to preliminary accounts, the suspect, believed to have had prior knowledge that the deceased was in possession of a large sum of money, allegedly carried out the attack before fleeing with the cash.

The bodies of the couple were later discovered on May 1, lying in a pool of blood.

In a particularly distressing development, the couple’s three-year-old daughter was found alive in the same room, having reportedly been left alone for several days following the incident.

The condition in which she was found has raised further concern about the circumstances surrounding the crime.

Sources indicate that the suspect had recently been transferred to Tamale prior to the incident, and is currently on the run.

Authorities suspect theft to be the primary motive behind the killings, although investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

The Ghana Police Service has since launched a manhunt for the suspect and is appealing to the public for information that could lead to his arrest.

Residents in the area have expressed shock at the brutality of the incident, noting that the suspect and victim were known to each other, adding a layer of betrayal to the tragedy.

Police say further updates will be provided as investigations continue.
