Ghana’s Black Queens blew a two-goal lead in the second half, ultimately drawing 3-3 against Côte d’Ivoire in their first of two friendly games.
The match saw the Black Queens take an early lead, with Sherifatu Sumaila scoring a great strike in the 18th minute.
Chantelle Hlorgah added a second goal in the 41st minute, giving Ghana a 2-0 lead.
Côte d’Ivoire Mounts Comeback
However, Côte d’Ivoire pulled one back just before halftime, and the teams went into the break at 2-1.
After the break, the Black Queens extended their lead through an own goal in the 51st minute.
But Côte d’Ivoire staged a remarkable comeback, scoring two goals in the final 20 minutes to level the match 3-3.
The draw is a disappointing result for the Black Queens, who had looked confident and dominant in the first half.
The team’s second-half collapse raises concerns about their defensive solidity and ability to hold onto leads.
