Bawumia Assists Injured Polling Station Officer With GHC10,000

In a heartwarming display of compassion and solidarity, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the immediate past Vice President of Ghana and 2024 NPP Presidential Candidate, has donated GH¢10,000 to Bernard Mensah, a dedicated polling station officer who suffered a near-fatal electrical accident during the 2024 election campaign.

Mr. Mensah, a member of the NPP, was fixing streetlight bulbs on electric poles when the accident occurred.

His commitment to ensuring the safety and visibility of his community exemplifies the spirit of sacrifice and service that defines the NPP’s grassroots supporters.

The accident left Mr. Mensah with severe injuries, requiring extensive medical treatment and rehabilitation.

Touched by his unwavering dedication and the challenges he has faced, Dr. Bawumia stepped in to provide financial support to alleviate the burden on Mr. Mensah and his family.

During the presentation of the cash donation, Percival Quicoo, former Central regional Organiser of the NPP, expressed Dr. Bawumia’s deep admiration for Mr. Mensah’s bravery and commitment to the party and the nation.

“Bernard’s selflessness and dedication to serving his community, even at great personal risk, is a testament to the kind of patriotism and sacrifice that drives our party and our country forward,” he stated.

The cash donation is expected to cover medical expenses and provide some relief to Mr. Mensah’s family as he continues his recovery journey.
Mr. Mensah, visibly moved by the support, expressed his gratitude to Dr. Bawumia and the NPP.

“I am deeply thankful to His Excellency and the party for this generous support. It gives me hope and strength to continue my recovery. I remain committed to the NPP and will continue to serve my community to the best of my ability,” he said.
