The family of late Ghanaian actress and entrepreneur Beverly Afaglo has announced significant changes to the funeral arrangements for the actress, revising both the date and venue for her final funeral rites in Ghana.
The announcement was made by the late actress’s elder sister, Royal Elorm, who also serves as a Queen Mother in the Aflao Traditional Area.
Speaking on behalf of the Baah and Afaglo families, she thanked Ghanaians for the overwhelming support shown since Beverly’s passing while appealing for understanding over the changes made to the burial arrangements.
According to the family, the funeral, which was initially scheduled to take place on Friday, August 7, 2026, at the Lashibi Funeral Home, has now been rescheduled to Saturday, August 8, 2026.
The venue has also been changed to the Forecourt of the State House in Accra, where family members, friends, colleagues and the general public are expected to gather to pay their final respects.
Royal Elorm explained that the family deeply appreciates the love, prayers and encouragement received from Ghanaians both home and abroad throughout this difficult period.
She also apologised for any inconvenience the changes may cause and appealed to sympathisers to take note of the revised arrangements.
The announcement has generated fresh reactions on social media, with many Ghanaians expressing their continued sympathy to the bereaved family while promising to attend the final funeral rites.
The revised funeral arrangements come weeks after Beverly Afaglo’s husband, musician Eugene Baah, popularly known as Choirmaster of the music group Praye, organised a memorial service in the United States in honour of his late wife.
The emotional gathering brought together family members, friends and members of the Ghanaian community abroad to celebrate her life and legacy.
Beverly Afaglo passed away on May 24, 2026, at the International Maritime Hospital in Tema after a short illness, just four days before what would have been her 43rd birthday. News of her death sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, with actors, musicians, media personalities and fans paying glowing tributes to her contribution to Ghanaian film and television.
Over the years, Beverly Afaglo established herself as one of Ghana’s respected actresses and entrepreneurs, featuring in numerous local productions while earning admiration for her talent, elegance and dedication to her family.
