The Black Stars, Ghana’s senior national football team, are set to face Chad and Mali in their upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Assistant coach John Paintsil has expressed confidence in the team’s ability to win both games, but emphasized the need for the right support from Ghanaians.
Upcoming Matches
The Black Stars will face Chad on September 4 at the Stade Olympique in N’Djamena, and Mali on September 8 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
These matches are crucial for Ghana’s bid to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
Speaking ahead of the games, Paintsil stressed that the team is ready for the challenge but needs the support of Ghanaians to achieve their objective.
“We are ready for the task ahead, but I will call on Ghanaians to support the team ahead of these two games,” he said.
“I hope our players will be injury-free for these games because we need them for the rest of the games.”
Current Standings
Ghana currently leads Group I after six matches, and a win in both games would significantly boost their chances of qualifying for the World Cup.
The team’s performance in these matches will be crucial in determining their fate in the qualifiers.
Preparation
The Black Stars will open camp on September 1, ahead of their matches against Chad and Mali. With the right preparation and support, the team is confident of achieving their objective and making a fifth appearance at the World Cup.
