Boots, Balls And Sisterhood: Belgium-Based NPP Loyal Lady Scores For Accra Team

In a heartwarming show of solidarity that blended sports, service and sisterhood, the Belgium Chapter of the NPP Loyal Ladies brought smiles to Accra as it donated football kits and equipment to the group’s local women’s team, reinforcing cross-border unity within the party.

The gesture was led by Saida Zakari Dauda, Captain of the NPP Loyal Ladies Belgium Chapter, who presented ten sets of branded football jerseys and six footballs to the NPP Loyal Ladies Football Team in Accra.

The donation was aimed at boosting morale, encouraging fitness and strengthening teamwork among women within the party’s grassroots structure.

When diaspora love meets local action

The NPP Loyal Ladies have increasingly embraced sports as a tool for women empowerment and youth engagement, using football activities to promote unity and visibility beyond traditional political spaces.

The support from the Belgium Chapter adds to a growing list of diaspora-led interventions that directly benefit members on the ground in Ghana.

The presentation ceremony was witnessed by key figures within the group and the party, including the Diaspora Coordinator of NPP Loyal Ladies, Karen Nyuiemedi Kemetse; Director of Communications, Grace Amoabeng; and former Mayor of Accra, Mohammed Adjei Sowah.

Executives and members of the Loyal Ladies were also present to celebrate the moment.

“This is about unity and empowerment”

Addressing the gathering, Ms. Zakari Dauda said the donation was driven by a desire to empower women through sports while deepening unity within the NPP family, regardless of location.

She described the initiative as a small but meaningful contribution to nation-building and party development.

The football kits and balls were formally received by the team captains in Accra, who expressed gratitude and said the support would inspire greater commitment and participation in the team’s activities.

Eyes On Leadership In Belgium

In a related announcement, Ms. Zakari Dauda disclosed her intention to contest for the position of NPP Branch Women Organizer in Belgium.

She appealed to party members, especially women in the diaspora, for prayers and support as she prepares for the upcoming internal contest.

More Than Football

Leaders present praised the NPP Loyal Ladies for consistently using innovative platforms such as sports to promote women leadership, youth development and community service.

They called on Ghanaians and party faithful to continue supporting the group’s initiatives, noting that such efforts strengthen grassroots bonds and project a positive image of women’s participation in politics.
