The Eastern Regional leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has intensified efforts to strengthen internal cohesion ahead of the 2028 general elections following a strategic meeting with Members of Parliament from the region at Parliament House.
The meeting, held on Thursday, November 5, 2026, brought together the Regional Executives and the Eastern Region’s Parliamentary Caucus to strengthen cooperation between the party’s regional leadership and its elected representatives in Parliament.
The engagement also provided an opportunity for the Regional Executives to formally introduce the newly elected and appointed officers of the regional party leadership to the MPs, establishing direct interaction between the two important arms of the party’s regional structure.
Beyond the formal introductions, discussions centred on the need to promote unity, improve communication and build stronger working relationships between the regional executives and the parliamentary representatives.
Both sides emphasised the importance of cohesion, mutual support and collective responsibility in rebuilding the party’s structures and strengthening its political presence across the Eastern Region.
A major focus of the engagement was the NPP’s preparations towards the 2028 general elections, with participants discussing the need to put aside internal differences, deepen collaboration and establish a common front capable of delivering electoral success in the region.
The Regional Executives and MPs reaffirmed their commitment to working together to reposition the party, strengthen grassroots structures and ensure that the regional leadership and parliamentary caucus operate with a shared political direction.
The meeting comes as political parties begin positioning themselves for the next general elections, with the Eastern Region remaining an important battleground in the NPP’s broader electoral strategy.
The engagement concluded with a renewed commitment by both sides to maintain closer cooperation, promote internal solidarity and work towards securing what they described as a resounding victory for the NPP in the Eastern Region in 2028.
The meeting signals an effort by the party’s regional leadership and its parliamentary representatives to strengthen their relationship and present a united front as preparations for the next electoral contest gather momentum.
