Award-winning Ghanaian vocalist Efya Nokturnal has quietly entered a new phase of her personal and professional life after exchanging vows with Nigerian singer Tomi Thomas in an intimate ceremony held on 14 February 2026.
The private Valentine’s Day wedding, which was closely guarded from the public eye, only became widely known after short video clips and photos surfaced on social media, sparking excitement and conversation across Ghana and Nigeria.
The low-key ceremony, attended by a select group of family members, close friends, and key figures from the entertainment industry, reflected a deliberate choice by the couple to keep their union away from the glare of public spectacle.
Despite the privacy, the visual moments that emerged from the event quickly captured national attention, particularly footage of Efya gently cradling her baby bump, confirming that the marriage also marks the beginning of motherhood for the celebrated singer.
Born Jane Fara Fauzzier Afia Boafowaa Yahaya Awindor, the 38-year-old songstress has long been one of Ghana’s most respected vocalists, known for her powerful voice, genre versatility, and artistic depth.
Over the years, Efya has built a reputation not just as a performer, but as a cultural figure whose music bridges soul, R&B, highlife, and contemporary African sounds.
Her journey from talent show contestant to multiple award-winning artiste has made her one of the most recognisable female voices in Ghana’s music industry.
At the ceremony, Efya appeared in a refined, pregnancy-accentuating outfit before later changing into a bespoke white gown, symbolising both celebration and transition.
Her styling, makeup, and overall presentation reflected elegance rather than extravagance, aligning with the private and intimate tone of the occasion.
Her husband, Tomi Thomas, brings his own rich musical background into the union.
A Nigerian-born singer, songwriter, and stage performer, Thomas first gained prominence as a member of the alternative music collective Loud On Sound (LOS) before launching a solo career.
Since the release of his debut EP Patience in 2014, he has steadily carved out a niche for himself across Afro-pop, R&B, hip-hop, reggae, jazz, and Afrobeat, becoming known for his fusion-driven sound and artistic experimentation.
