The long-standing marriage between gospel musician Florence Obinim and controversial preacher Bishop Daniel Obinim has come under renewed public scrutiny after the singer openly declared that she would not oppose a divorce if her husband chooses to end their relationship.

Her comments mark one of the strongest public statements yet from the gospel artist amid growing speculation about challenges within their marriage, following a series of controversial remarks made by the founder of the International God’s Way Church in recent weeks.

Speaking in an interview with GhPage, Florence Obinim expressed disappointment over what she described as years of sacrifice, patience and humility that have not been adequately appreciated by her husband.

According to her, she has consistently supported Bishop Obinim throughout their marriage and conducted herself as a respectful wife, yet she feels her efforts have gone largely unnoticed.

“I have been humble and patient with Bishop, yet he still does not appreciate the kind of woman I am. May God’s will be done. If he is ready for a divorce, then I am ready too,” she stated.

The revelation has sparked fresh debate among followers of the couple, who for years have been regarded as one of Ghana’s most prominent celebrity religious couples.

Florence further admitted that she remains uncertain about what more her husband expects from her after years of marriage and family life. Her remarks suggested a growing sense of frustration and emotional exhaustion as public discussions surrounding their relationship continue to intensify.

While avoiding specific details, the gospel musician hinted that there are aspects of Bishop Obinim’s personal life that she has deliberately chosen not to discuss publicly. According to her, exposing some of those issues would create further controversy and discomfort.

She noted that there are matters she is entitled to within the marriage that would bring her peace of mind, but rather than engage in public confrontations, she often chooses silence and resolves certain challenges independently.

“If I choose to speak about certain things that concern me about Bishop’s life, it would not be pleasant. There are things I am entitled to that would give me peace of mind, but if I am denied them, I simply stay quiet. If I need to buy or rent them myself, I go ahead and do so,” she said.

Despite her frustrations, Florence maintained a conciliatory tone, calling on members of the church, junior pastors and well-wishers to pray for Bishop Obinim. She indicated that the situation surrounding their marriage has become increasingly troubling and requires spiritual intervention.

Her latest comments come against the backdrop of a series of public declarations by Bishop Obinim that have generated widespread reactions across social media and religious circles.

Only weeks ago, the controversial preacher stunned many when he announced during a church service that, in the event of his death, his funeral arrangements should be handled by his children and church members rather than his wife.

The statement immediately generated intense public debate and raised questions about the state of the couple’s relationship.

Shortly afterward, Bishop Obinim again attracted attention when he suggested that Florence had recently surrounded herself with what he described as “bad friends.”

During that address, he appealed to church members to give him space while insisting that divorce was not an option he intended to pursue.

The public exchanges between the couple have since fueled widespread speculation about possible tensions behind the scenes, with many Ghanaians expressing concern over the increasingly personal nature of the issues being discussed openly.

Over the years, Florence Obinim has remained one of the most recognised gospel musicians, building a successful music ministry while standing beside her husband through numerous controversies, legal battles and public criticisms that have surrounded his ministry.
