The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee has charged Hearts of Oak and their midfielder Hussein Mohammed for misconduct during their Week Nine Ghana Premier League clash against Asante Kotoko.
The Phobians, who lost 1-0 to their arch-rivals, allegedly confronted referee Reginald Collins Amoah “in a disorderly manner” after Mawuli Wayo’s stoppage-time equaliser was ruled out for offside.
The GFA statement alleged that Hearts of Oak “failed to control its players” after the final whistle, as well as their supporters, who threw “objects onto the field of play”.
Forward Hussein Mohammed was also accused of assaulting referee Amoah as the official, under police protection, made his way to the tunnel.
Both parties were expected to respond by yesterday, Tuesday, November 11, to the charges.
The charges are based on Articles 16(2)(b), 12(1)(k), and 34(6)(d) of the GFA Disciplinary Code (2019) and the GFA Premier League Regulations (2025).
The defeat was Hearts of Oak’s first of the season, dropping them to fifth place on the league table with 16 points.
