The Ghanaian Christian community has been thrown into deep mourning following the sudden death of Prophet Prince Elisha Kofi Osei, Founder and General Overseer of Grace Family Church International, who passed away after a cardiac arrest on Friday, February 13, 2026.
His death, described by family sources as unexpected, has sent shockwaves through his congregation, religious circles, and the wider public, where he was widely known for his prophetic ministry and spiritual lleadership.
The official announcement was jointly issued by the leadership of the Amokuma Tankam Ahinkora Anona Family of Dutch Komenda/Elmina/Sekondi, led by the family head, Nana Kojo Danso Botha, together with prominent Christian leaders including Prophetic Archbishop Elisha Salifu Amoako, President of the National Prophetic And Apostolic Churches Council (NPACC) and General Overseer of Alive Chapel International, as well as Archbishop General Dr Obenfo George Slezer Ofori-Atta, Prelate of the Prelate Council of World Bishops and Clergies in Philadelphia, USA.
Prophet Prince Elisha Kofi Osei had, over the years, built Grace Family Church International into a fast-growing ministry, drawing followers from different parts of the country through his teachings, prophetic direction, and emphasis on faith, discipline, and Christian living.
Known for his passionate preaching style and deep spiritual conviction, he was regarded by many members as both a spiritual father and mentor who shaped lives beyond the pulpit.
Church members and associates describe him as a devoted servant of God whose influence extended beyond church services into community outreach, counselling, and faith-based support for families and young people.
His ministry, which gained recognition within national prophetic and apostolic networks, positioned him as one of the emerging influential voices in the charismatic Christian space.
The sudden nature of his death has left his immediate family—his wife and children—along with his congregation and followers, in profound grief.
The family and church leadership have appealed to the public to respect their privacy during this difficult period, while also cautioning against the spread of unverified information, false narratives, and defamatory commentary surrounding the circumstances of his passing.
They further warned that individuals found circulating falsehoods or malicious statements would face legal action in accordance with the laws of the land. Funeral arrangements, the family said, will be formally announced to the public in due course.
