The grounds of Accra Mall’s Ghud Park were transformed into a bustling hub of commerce and entertainment on Saturday, April 18, 2026, as thousands of patrons trooped in for the latest edition of Porials Pitch—an event that continues to redefine retail culture in Ghana.

Spearheaded by influencer and entrepreneur Dulcie Boateng, the gathering drew massive crowds, with eager shoppers forming long queues as early as dawn in anticipation of discounted deals and a vibrant social experience.

What set this year’s edition apart was not just the scale of attendance—estimated to exceed 15,000—but also the soaring demand for vendor spaces. Stands at the event reportedly sold for as high as GH¢10,000, reflecting the growing commercial value attached to the platform.

Vendor slots were snapped up within minutes, generating hundreds of thousands of cedis in revenue even before the gates opened, underscoring the event’s strong appeal among small business owners and emerging brands.

Originally launched in 2024 as a modest pop-up market, Porials Pitch has rapidly evolved into a high-impact retail and lifestyle showcase.

This year, over 100 vendors displayed a wide range of products—from fashion and beauty items to home and lifestyle goods—many offered at discounts of up to 50 percent. The event’s unique blend of affordability and experience continues to attract a youthful, digitally engaged audience.

Beyond shopping, Porials Pitch 2026 delivered a full-scale entertainment experience. Performances from some of Ghana’s top music acts, including DopeNation, Gyakie, King Promise, and Cina Soul, turned the venue into a festival-like arena, keeping the crowd energised throughout the day.

The seamless integration of music, commerce, and social interaction highlighted a growing trend where events are designed as immersive lifestyle experiences rather than mere marketplaces.

However, the event also drew regulatory attention. In the midst of the busy shopping activities, officials from the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) carried out an enforcement exercise, seizing unregistered products from some vendors.

The move, aimed at protecting public health, sparked mixed reactions among patrons and online observers.

While some commended the FDA for its vigilance, others criticised the timing, suggesting that such checks should have been conducted prior to the event to avoid disrupting business activities.

Despite the controversy, the overwhelming turnout and commercial success of the event reaffirm Porials Pitch’s growing influence in the landscape.

It has become a powerful example of how social media personalities like Dulcie Boateng are leveraging their platforms to create thriving business ecosystems that connect vendors directly with consumers.
