A health scare involving outspoken Ghanaian preacher Prophet Emmanuel Badu Kobi has prompted a personal response from President John Dramani Mahama, who has sent a delegation to visit the founder of Glorious Wave Church International at a private hospital.
The development follows reports that the prophet had collapsed and was subsequently receiving medical attention.
The delegation was led by Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, who disclosed the visit in a social media post after meeting the preacher at the hospital.
Afriyie-Ankrah said the delegation was acting on behalf of President Mahama and conveyed the President’s concern, goodwill and prayers for the preacher’s recovery.
“I led a delegation from President John Dramani Mahama to visit Prophet Badu Kobi at a private hospital following reports of his collapse.”
According to Afriyie-Ankrah, the delegation delivered the President’s message directly to Badu Kobi, who expressed appreciation for the gesture.
“On behalf of the President, we conveyed our concern, goodwill and prayers for his swift recovery. Prophet Badu Kobi expressed his appreciation for the President’s gesture.”
The former minister subsequently wished the preacher a speedy and complete recovery.
Visit follows video seeking help
The hospital visit comes after a video involving Badu Kobi surfaced online in which the preacher was reportedly seen appealing for assistance.
The emergence of the video generated concern among some members of the public and drew attention to the preacher’s condition.
It was against this background that reports of his collapse and hospitalisation emerged, prompting the presidential delegation to visit him.
However, the information provided about the hospital visit does not disclose the specific medical condition affecting the preacher, the treatment he is receiving or the circumstances surrounding his reported collapse.
Badu Kobi and Mahama’s relationship
