A devastating accident involving a military armoured vehicle has claimed the life of one soldier and left four others battling for their lives.
The incident occurred on the Bawku-Bolgatanga highway, near Zebilla, when the vehicle’s left rear tyre dislodged while in motion, causing the vehicle to somersault several times.
According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle, with registration number 21GA39, was on escort duties to Bawku when the accident occurred.
Residents in the area rushed to the scene to assist in removing the trapped victims before police personnel from Zebilla arrived.
The injured soldiers were rushed to the Zebilla District Hospital for treatment.
This tragic incident is not the first of its kind, as a similar accident occurred on October 16, 2024, at Bazua in the Binduri District, resulting in the death of one soldier.
