Ghanaian media personality and mental health advocate Abena Korkor has revealed that she has stayed away from alcohol for three years, describing the milestone as a significant achievement in her personal recovery journey.
In a candid TikTok video shared by popular blogger Lupi Love Kyannel, the former TV3 personality disclosed that although maintaining her sobriety has not been easy, she once came close to relapsing before managing to stay on course.
Korkor repeated her three-year sobriety milestone in the video, appearing visibly excited and proud of her progress.
“I’ve been three years sober. Three years sober, three years sober,” she said, emphasising the significance of the achievement.
She admitted that there had been difficult moments along the way, revealing that she almost slipped but ultimately managed to maintain her commitment to staying sober.
“I almost slipped, but I have been three years sober, no filter,” she added.
During the video, Korkor also drew attention to her appearance, expressing satisfaction with the condition of her skin and complexion. She jokingly attributed a few pimples to a possible menstrual cycle and encouraged people to remain sober as much as possible.
The media personality further suggested that the achievement deserved a special personal reward, joking that she should buy herself a gold chain to celebrate the milestone.
Sobriety Update Follows Reported Rehabilitation
Korkor’s latest revelation comes after reports that she had spent time at a rehabilitation facility amid concerns surrounding her personal and mental health struggles.
Although she did not provide further details about the circumstances of her reported rehabilitation in the TikTok video, her public declaration of three years without alcohol has attracted attention because of her previous openness about her personal challenges.
Over the years, Korkor has become known not only for her work in the Ghanaian media industry but also for speaking publicly about mental health and sexual health issues.
The video has attracted positive reactions from social media users, many of whom congratulated Korkor and expressed happiness about her reported sobriety milestone.
