In a symbolic gesture of unity and reconciliation, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri and Minority Chief Whip in Parliament, paid a formal courtesy call on the Nsawam traditional authority on Thursday, marking his first official visit to the palace since the installation of the new chief.

The visit, though long anticipated, had been delayed by the intense political activities surrounding the 2024 general elections, which dominated the MP’s schedule and constituency engagements throughout the election year.

The courtesy call was also rooted in a long-standing personal and community relationship between the MP and the Nsawam traditional leadership, particularly with the current chief, Nana Kwamena Ansah I, who was enstooled in October 2023 after a prolonged vacancy on the stool.
Nana Kwamena Ansah I succeeded the late Naa Osae Kuma at a time when the town was seeking renewed stability and development direction. His ascension to the stool was widely seen as a fresh chapter for Nsawam, with a strong focus on community development, economic revitalisation, cultural cohesion, and traditional leadership reform.

During the visit, Annoh-Dompreh was accompanied by constituency executives, party officials, and supporters, who were warmly received by the chief, elders, and members of the traditional council.
The delegation formally greeted the chief, officially acknowledged and endorsed his chieftaincy, and expressed readiness to work closely with the palace to advance the development of Nsawam.
In his address, the MP emphasised unity, cooperation, and partnership between political leadership and traditional authority, stressing that sustainable development could only be achieved through collaboration rather than division.
He reaffirmed his commitment to using his position in Parliament to attract projects, infrastructure, and social interventions to the municipality.

In response, Nana Kwamena Ansah I welcomed the MP’s visit and described it as timely and significant, noting that development requires mutual respect and cooperation between elected leaders and traditional

He pledged the full support of the palace in working with Annoh-Dompreh to transform Nsawam into a modern, progressive, and development-driven town, grounded in peace, unity, and shared purpose.
