The Member of Parliament for Ayensuano, Ida Adjoa Asiedu, has commissioned a newly constructed 3-unit classroom block, office, and staff common room for the Otibu Ahyia Junior High School, a community in the Asuboi Electoral area in the Eastern Region, marking a major step toward improving educational infrastructure in the area.

The project, which began under the tenure of former NPP MP Samuel Ayeh-Paye, was successfully completed under the leadership of Ida Adjoa Asiedu, who assumed office after the 2024 general elections.

The facility forms part of a broader commitment by the Ayensuano District Assembly and stakeholders to enhance access to quality education and improve the teaching and learning environment in rural communities.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, which drew local chiefs, elders, education officials, teachers, and residents, the Ayensuano legislator expressed profound gratitude for the collective effort that made the project a reality.

She emphasized that the new classroom block was not just a physical structure but a “symbol of hope, opportunity, and progress” for the community.

“Education is the cornerstone of progress and the key to unlocking opportunities,” she stated.

“For far too long, students and teachers at Otibu Ahyia School have endured the challenges of overcrowded classrooms and limited facilities. Today, we have taken a bold step forward to change that narrative.”

The Ayensuano MP, Ida Adjoa Asiedu highlighted that the new 3-unit classroom block, alongside the office and staff common room, would provide a conducive atmosphere for effective teaching and learning.

She also noted that the staff common room would offer teachers a comfortable space to plan, collaborate, and nurture the next generation of leaders.

The MP extended appreciation to the Ayensuano District Assembly, the contractor, community leaders, and all stakeholders who contributed to the project’s completion.

She further commended the chiefs and people of Otibu Ahyia for their cooperation and community spirit throughout the construction period.

“This project is proof of what we can achieve when we work together for a common purpose,” she said. “Together, we have demonstrated that development is possible when unity and dedication drive our efforts.”

Ida Adjoa Asiedu used the occasion to urge students to take advantage of the new facility to pursue academic excellence and encouraged teachers to continue their invaluable service with passion and professionalism.

She also assured the community that the commissioning of the classroom block was only the beginning of more development initiatives to come under her tenure.

“As we commission this project today, let us recommit ourselves to the pursuit of excellence in education. More projects will follow as we continue to transform Ayensuano into a model district for development and opportunity,” she affirmed.

The District Director of Education, in his remarks, lauded the MP’s commitment to educational development and urged parents to support their children’s learning to ensure the community reaps the full benefits of the facility.

The new building — now officially handed over to the Otibu Ahyia JHS — stands as a legacy project that bridges two administrations, reflecting continuity in leadership and a shared vision for the future of Ayensuano’s youth.

The event concluded with a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony and a tour of the new facility, as community members expressed their appreciation for the completion of a project that had long been awaited.
