The U17 women’s national team, the Black Maidens, will take on Liberia in the second round of qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, as they continue their determined push to return to the global stage in Morocco.

The upcoming fixture marks another significant chapter in the team’s resurgence following a difficult period that saw Ghana sidelined from the competition for two years due to age eligibility violations.

The Black Maidens set the tone with a 2-0 win away before delivering a commanding 6-0 performance in the second leg at the Accra Sports Stadium. That dominant display not only underlined their attacking strength but also signalled their intent to reclaim a place among the elite in women’s youth football.
