Grieving Ghanaian musician Choirmaster has touched hearts across social media after sharing an emotional tribute to his late wife, Beverly Afaglo, on what would have been her 43rd birthday.
The actress, who was reported dead on May 24, 2026, passed away just days before her birthday celebration, leaving family, friends and fans devastated by the sudden loss.
Shortly after news of her passing emerged, Choirmaster, known in private life as Eugene Baah and a member of the legendary music group Praye, confirmed the tragedy in an emotional social media post.
“My heart is shattered beyond words over the death of my beloved wife, Beverly Afaglo. It would have been just about four days to your birthday, but I believe the Lord wanted to celebrate with you, so He called you,” he wrote.
As family, friends and fans remembered the actress on the day she would have turned 43, Choirmaster returned to social media with another emotional message celebrating her life and the memories they shared together.
The musician accompanied the tribute with a touching video montage featuring intimate moments from their marriage. The video showcased the couple’s affection, laughter and companionship over the years, reminding many of the strong bond they shared.
The emotional post quickly generated thousands of reactions, with fans and fellow celebrities offering prayers and words of encouragement to the bereaved musician and his family.
The tribute came amid growing concern about Choirmaster’s health following reports that he had been hospitalised after his wife’s passing.
According to reports circulated online, the musician was admitted to hospital after suffering complications linked to grief and elevated blood pressure.
The claims were first shared by blogger King Bygone, who previously served as Beverly Afaglo’s official videographer.
“This is truly heartbreaking. Choirmaster has reportedly been admitted to hospital after his blood pressure rose following the painful passing of his wife,” the blogger wrote on Instagram.
Following widespread speculation, the family released an official statement on May 27, 2026, confirming that Choirmaster is indeed receiving medical care while grieving the loss of his wife.
“Following the earlier announcement regarding the passing of his beloved wife, Beverly Afaglo, Eugene Baah (Choirmaster) and his family wish to provide the following update,” the statement said.
The family expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support received from the public since the actress’s passing.
“During this incredibly painful time, Eugene and his family are deeply grateful for the overwhelming love, support and sympathy shown by friends, fans and well-wishers,” the statement added.
Relatives also appealed to the media and the public to respect the family’s privacy as they continue to mourn.
“The family respectfully requests privacy as they continue to grieve and honour Beverly’s life and legacy. Eugene is currently receiving medical care and is unable to take calls at this time,” the statement noted.
The family further urged the public to avoid speculation surrounding the circumstances and indicated that details regarding Beverly Afaglo’s memorial and funeral arrangements would be communicated at an appropriate time.
