Karela United FC have received a major boost ahead of their upcoming campaign after FIFA officially closed disciplinary proceedings against the Ghana Premier League club following the settlement of its outstanding financial obligation to player Sana Camara.
The development brings an end to the dispute that had resulted in FIFA imposing a registration ban on the club in connection with the case referenced as FPSD-23160. The restriction had prevented Karela United from registering new players at both the international and national levels.
According to correspondence filed through the FIFA Legal Portal, the world football governing body confirmed that Camara had received the outstanding amounts due to him in accordance with the earlier decision issued in the case.
FIFA consequently brought the disciplinary proceedings against Karela United to a formal close and permanently lifted the registration restriction imposed on the club in relation to the matter.
The decision also requires the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to immediately remove the corresponding registration ban imposed on Karela United at the domestic level.
The lifting of the restriction gives Karela United greater freedom in their squad-building plans, particularly as the club prepares for upcoming registration activities. The resolution means the club can now register new players in relation to the specific case after fulfilling its financial obligations to Camara.
