Mohammed Kudus Injury Blow: Tottenham Star Ruled Out Of Liverpool Clash

BY Grace Zigah

Mohammed Kudus has been ruled out of Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League showdown against Liverpool FC, dealing another setback to the club as it battles a deepening injury crisis ahead of the crucial fixture at Anfield.

The Ghanaian midfielder is still recovering from a thigh injury that has sidelined him for nearly two months. The 25-year-old has not played since sustaining the injury in early January, and medical staff have confirmed that he will not be available for Sunday’s encounter against the reigning champions.

Kudus is among 13 first-team players currently unavailable for Tottenham, leaving the London club severely depleted as they prepare for one of their toughest away fixtures of the season.

The growing injury list has forced interim head coach Igor Tudor to rally his squad as he searches for his first victory since taking charge.

Speaking ahead of the match, Tudor urged his players to remain resilient despite the difficult circumstances. “You can cry or you can fight,” he told his squad as Tottenham attempts to navigate a challenging period marked by injuries and suspensions.

Kudus’ absence is particularly significant given his influence in midfield since joining Tottenham from West Ham United. In his debut season with Spurs, the creative playmaker has scored three goals and provided six assists in 26 appearances across all competitions, quickly establishing himself as one of the team’s key attacking outlets.

The injury has also raised concerns in Ghana, where the Ghana national football team technical staff are closely monitoring his recovery ahead of upcoming international assignments.

The Black Stars are scheduled to play friendly matches against the Austria national football team on March 27 and the Germany national football team on March 30 as part of their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

If Mohammed Kudus’ recovery takes longer than expected, he could miss those important preparatory matches, a development that would concern head coach Otto Addo as he fine-tunes his squad ahead of the global tournament.

Meanwhile, Tottenham enter the Anfield clash under pressure. The club currently sits 16th in the Premier League table, a position that reflects an inconsistent campaign compounded by injuries to key players.

Their opponents, Liverpool, currently placed sixth in the standings, will be hoping to take advantage of Tottenham’s depleted squad as they continue their push for a strong finish in the league.
