Queenstar Fights NDC Over Ministerial Snub

In a bold move, Queenstar Pokuah Sawyerr, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Agona East in the Central Region, has taken to social media to express her frustration over the party’s decision to sidestep her in the ministerial appointment.

Queenstar Sawyerr, who has been a vocal advocate for her constituents, wrote on her Facebook page, “The shoe will be dirty again, and the ‘Rag’ will be remembered #WatchMe”.

This statement comes on the heels of President John Mahama’s recent appointments, which have been met with criticism from within the party.

Many NDC members, including MPs, are upset over being sidelined in the appointment process, leading to a boycott of parliamentary proceedings.

This has made it challenging for the Majority in doing business in the house.

Queenstar Sawyerr’s supporters have rallied behind her, with some expressing their disappointment over her not being given a ministerial portfolio despite her experience having being Parliament for four times.

“My understanding is elections will come again, and use and dump cornerstone will be needed again. Me, I think madam, with her experience, deserves ministerial portfolio, but let’s remember reshuffle will be done, and some of those lamenting will also get in,” said one supporter.

The former Deputy Central Regional Minister, Queenstar Sawyerr, has been a strong supporter of John Mahama, which might have caused her a ministerial job.
According to sources the President was said to have pencilled her name down for an appointment, but the First Lady allegedly kicked against her selection.

She has been a Member of Parliament for Agona East since 2013 and has worked tirelessly to improve the lives of her people.
